How to choose PoE switch
PoE Switch works as the PSE and access layer switch at the same time, we can consider the following aspects when choosing switch.
Physical Port
PoE switch is connected with PoE PD devices as access layer switch, we should consider the number of PD devices to determine the number of interfaces of the PoE switch. Furthermore, the Rate of the terminal devices should also be taken into consideration depending the data type, for instance, 11AC EAP should connect with Gigabit PoE switch.
PoE Powering Standard
Depending on the PD devices (like AP or IP Camera) supported PoE protocol (like 802.3af or 802.3at or passive PoE), we should keep the PoE switches corresponding PoE powering standard consistent.
